The latest news and updates on Miao Hua, an Admiral in the Chinese People’s Liberation Army who served as Director of the Central Military Commission’s Political Work Department from 2017 until his suspension in November 2024. His extensive career in military political work included roles as Political Commissar of the PLA Navy and Lanzhou Military Region. He was responsible for enforcing party ideology, personnel management, and overseeing senior PLA promotions. Elevated by President Xi Jinping, his dismissal is part of an ongoing anti-corruption purge, with investigations into "serious violations of discipline" and suspected "legal violations," potentially involving the illicit sale of military positions.
