The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) is China’s primary governmental law enforcement agency, headquartered in Beijing. Functioning as the national police service and domestic security force, it oversees over 1.9 million officers. Its core mission involves safeguarding national security, maintaining social order and preventing and punishing crimes, including counterterrorism and counternarcotics.
