Japanese teen performers flock to Seoul chasing dreams of K-pop stardom

Korean pop or K-pop has enjoyed enormous success around the world, including in Japan where J-pop had a dominant role in setting culture trends across Asia in the 1990s.

Today, Japanese teens are among some 1 million teenagers from South Korea and around the world pursuing dreams of fame and glory by competing for a place as K-pop trainees in Seoul.
