Authorities in Thailand arrested at least eight pro-democracy activists, including a rap musician, a human rights lawyer and other government critics on August 19-20, 2020. The activists involved in anti-government protests face several charges including sedition and defying measures that banned public gatherings to prevent the spread of Covid-19, police said. Those detained included human rights lawyer Anon Nampa and popular rapper Dechathorn Bamrungmuang. The entire group has reportedly been released on bail.
