In the Philippines, gang tattoos of inmates are inked over by authorities to tackle jail violence

Authorities in the Philippines have introduced a new programme to cover up tattoos engraved on prisoners in an effort to combat jail violence. Many of the tattoos show which gang an inmate belongs to, which can often cause deadly clashes with competing gangs.
