Myanmar coup: acting president Myint Swe seen holding a meeting with military officials

A broadcast on Myanmar state television MRTV on February 1, 2021, showed acting president Myint Swe meeting military officials after the nation’s army declared a state of emergency. After the military took power in a coup, former general Myint Swe was appointed to be acting president. Myanmar’s State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and President U Win Myint were detained by the military earlier in the day.
