Malaysian divers perform underwater lion dance in muted Lunar New Year celebrations
Divers at an aquarium in Malaysia performed an underwater lion dance on February 12, 2021, as people held muted Lunar New Year celebrations amid a resurgent Covid-19 wave.
The Malaysian authorities announced a renewed lockdown across much of the country in January to fight a surge in coronavirus infections. Strict rules were also put in place for Lunar New Year celebrations. Covid-19 has infected more than 258,000 people and killed at least 950 in the country so far.
