Over 100 killed in bloodiest crackdown on Myanmar’s anti-coup protesters

Caroline Kwok

The United Nations says more than 100 people, including seven children, were killed in the worst crackdown on Myanmar's anti-coup protesters on March 27, 2021. Undaunted, protesters took to the streets again the following day in several cities including Yangon, Dawei, Bago, Myingyan and Monywa. The UN Special Rapporteur for Myanmar said the army was carrying out “mass murder” and called on the world to isolate the junta and halt its access to weapons.
