In the capital New Delhi, funeral pyres were set up in a car park at a crematorium to handle the overflow. On April 27, 2021, more than 320,000 new infections were recorded, and the nation’s total number of deaths reached nearly 200,000. Health experts believe the reported figures are far less than the actual number of victims.
