Marawi rebuilds four years after Isis militants laid siege to southern Philippine city
Reconstruction efforts are under way in the southern Philippine city of Marawi. The capital of Lanao del Sur province in the island of Mindanao was battered during a five-month war between government security forces and Isis-linked militants in 2017, displacing over 300,000 people. The city’s rehabilitation is expected to be completed by December 2021.
