Bangkok ‘taxi graveyard’ turns into mini garden to feed drivers left jobless by Covid-19 curbs

Carol Mang

About 200 taxis left idle by Covid-19 pandemic curbs have been transformed into mini vegetable gardens and frog ponds in the Thai capital Bangkok. Many drivers have left for their home villages since Thailand imposed tough pandemic restrictions, including a curfew, to deal with a deadly spike in coronavirus cases in recent months. Started by a local taxi company, the mini garden project will help feed out-of-work drivers and their families.
