Zoe Law

South Korea has launched nationwide civil defence drills from August 22-25, 2022, to assess its crisis management and emergency preparedness amid missile threats from its northern neighbour. The Ulchi civil defence drills have been designed to simulate chemical, drone, explosion and fire attacks in a shopping centre or the headquarters of Seoul’s subway station. Concurrently, Seoul has launched its biggest joint military drills with the US in about five years. The exercise runs from August 22 to September 1, 2022.
