CCTV footage shows moment a bridge collapsed in India, killing at least 134

CCTV footage showed the terrifying moment a 150-year-old pedestrian bridge in western India collapsed on October 30, 2022, killing at least 134 people. Authorities said nearly 500 people were on and around the bridge when cables supporting it snapped, bringing the structure down into the river. The suspension bridge over the Machchhu river, which is around 200km (120 miles) west of Gujarat’s main city, Ahmedabad, had only reopened several days earlier after months of repairs.
