Philippines’ Marcos hopes to take relations with Beijing to ‘higher gear’ during China visit

The Philippine president said on January 3, 2023, he hopes to shift relations with China into “higher gear”. Ferdinand Marcos Jnr made the comment before leaving for his first visit to China since he took office in June 2022. The two countries are expected to sign more than 10 agreements during his three-day trip.
