Pilot of Nepalese plane that crashed deliberately avoided village, says witness

A witness of the Nepal plane crash on January 15, 2023, said that the pilot may have deliberately changed the aircraft’s direction to avoid hitting a residential area. The Yeti Airlines flight crashed into the Seti River Gorge near the city of Pokhara. Nepal’s Civil Aviation Authority said the pilot wanted to land on a different runway than initially assigned, and no distress calls were reported from the pilot.
