Thailand sets world record for largest ‘wai kru’ ceremony involving 3,660 Muay Thai performers

A total of 3,660 people performed in a mass Muay Thai ceremony in the seaside village of Hua Hin in Thailand’s western province of Prachuap Khiri Khan on February 6, 2023. The performance broke the previous Guinness record of 250 participants to join wai kru, a traditional pre-match dance to show respect for coaches, parents, and ancestors.
