People across India have flooded the streets to celebrate the country’s successful landing of its unmanned spacecraft on the moon. The event, watched by millions across India on August 23, 2023, makes it the first country to land a spacecraft on the lunar south pole. It is also only the fourth country to succeed in a moon landing after the US, the former Soviet Union and China.
