Dams dry up, crops die on Indonesian island resort of Bali as El Nino drought worsens

The El Nino weather pattern has been hitting Bali hard for five months since May 2023. The extremely dry weather has forced rice farmers to switch to raising relatively drought-resistant vegetables. Weather forecasters said the impact of this year’s El Nino is expected to peak between August to early November.
