'Parasite' actor Lee Sun-kyun found dead in suspected suicide amid drug probe

Lee Sun-kyun, a South Korean actor of the 2020 Oscar-winning film Parasite, was found dead on December 27, 2023, following a report that he had gone missing. Local media have reported his agent as saying the actor had left a suicide note. The 48-year-old had been under police investigation over alleged use of marijuana and other psychoactive drugs, and had been brought in for questioning by police three times since October.
