South Korean football player Son Jun-ho released after being held in China over bribery case

South Korea’s foreign ministry reported on March 25, 2024, that footballer Son Jun-ho had been released recently by China after he was detained in May 2023. At the time of Son’s arrest, China's foreign ministry said that Son was arrested on suspicion of accepting bribes. Son played for both the South Korean national team and Chinese Super League club Shandong Taishan.
