South Korean netizens have uncovered large networks of sexual “humiliation” chats, where male users have been sharing images of schoolmates, colleagues and relatives to thousands of strangers online. The scandal, propagated on private Telegram groups and channels, comes as the social media platform’s CEO Pavel Durov was arrested in France on August 24, 2024, for allegedly allowing child pornography and illicit activity to thrive on the app.
