‘We’re not scammers’: China, Thailand join forces to free thousands from Myanmar scam hubs

Hundreds of victims rescued from Myanmar scam hubs have been transferred to a Thai military camp. A blitz on the cyber fraud industry along the Thai-Myanmar border has led to the rescue of around 10,000 alleged scam workers. The first planes carrying Chinese nationals left on February 20, 2025, in a high-profile operation jointly carried out by Thai and Chinese authorities.
