‘Killed on their way to the market’: Myanmar junta bombs village twice in a single week
The village of Letpanhla is controlled by an anti-junta militia called the People’s Defence Forces
Myanmar’s ruling junta has bombed Letpanhla, a village located about 60km (40 miles) north of Mandalay, the country's second-largest city. The March 17, 2025, attack was the second time the village was hit in a week, following an earlier assault on March 14. Local authorities said the initial air strike killed at least 12 people and appeared to deliberately target civilian areas.
