Indonesia’s Mount Dukono erupted on May 8, 2026, as 20 hikers were climbing its slopes. Officials have confirmed three deaths, including two Singaporeans and one Indonesian. The group of hikers were led into a restricted area of the volcano by a tour guide, who ignored safety exclusion zones. Mount Dukono is currently at level two of Indonesia’s four-tier emergency alert system.
