Chinese military conducts skills contest after President Xi’s call for more training

A division of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) recently carried out a military skills competition to help soldiers adapt to real combat situations. The contest follows Chinese president Xi’s naval inspection in mid-June, where he said the military needs more training to cope with changes in national security circumstances.
