US blacklists 28 Chinese entities over Xinjiang

The Trump administration blacklisted 28 Chinese organisations and companies over “the brutal suppression of ethnic minorities” in China’s autonomous region of Xinjiang. Two of the world’s biggest manufacturers of video surveillance producers, Hikvision and Dahua Technology, were among those effectively banned from buying American products. The move was announced days ahead of a new round of high-level trade talks between China and the US in Washington DC.
