Chinese rats, cobra farmers face debt and poverty after wildlife ban

Bamboo rat and snake farmers were left with empty cages and no income after China put their animals on a list of prohibited animals. The Chinese government issued a national ban on wildlife trade and consumption in February, in response to evidence that coronavirus jumped from animals to humans.
