Chinese man causes outage after doing sit-ups atop power pole

A man in Chengdu, China was taken away by police after climbing onto a high-voltage utility pole to do sit-ups on February 21, 2021. Footage from a local media outlet shows him doing stomach crunches on top of the tower. State media said local police asked the electrical utility company to cut off power after receiving a report about the incident. Thousands of homes in the city were affected by the service outage.
