1 dead, 2 injured after Chinese military jet crashes during training in central China

One person died and two were injured after a military jet crashed into houses in the Chinese city of Laohekou on June 9, 2022. Chinese state broadcaster CCTV reported that a J-7 fighter jet crashed during training in central Hubei province. The pilot parachuted from the plane and was taken to hospital for treatment along with two residents who were injured. The crash occurred near the Laohekou Airport, which is mainly used as a training site for new fighter pilots from the PLA Air Force.
