‘Any change in Taiwan’s status quo must be peaceful,’ German Chancellor Olaf Scholz tells China

Chancellor Olaf Scholz said during his trip to China he affirmed Germany’s one-China policy while also addressing growing concerns about stability and peace in the region. “Any change in Taiwan’s status quo must be peaceful or by mutual agreement,” he said on November 4, 2022, in Beijing at a news conference with outgoing Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.
