Chinese teenage badminton player dies after collapsing during tournament in Indonesia

Chinese badminton player Zhang Zhijie died after suffering a cardiac arrest on June 30, 2024, officials said a day after the teenager collapsed during a tournament in Indonesia. The 17-year-old received treatment at the scene and was rushed to hospital by ambulance. But the teen died later that night despite repeated efforts to resuscitate him.
