China’s top diplomat Wang Yi lays out directions for country’s foreign policies

China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi addressed a range of issues amid an "increasingly complex and severe external environment." He stressed that China is positioned to be a source of stability in the midst of global turbulence.

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi answered a series of wide-ranging questions from reporters during the country’s annual “two sessions” meeting including the Ukraine war and US-China relations under the second Trump administration. This came as China faces an “increasingly complex and severe external environment”, according to this year’s government work report released on March 5, 2025. Wang emphasised that China is able to provide a source of stability in a turbulent international environment.
