‘It’s all gone’: Beijing villagers left with nothing after deadly floods
At least 44 people were killed and tens of thousands forced to evacuate as heavy rain inundated the region
Torrential rain triggered floods and landslides in northern China in late July that killed at least 44 people and displaced tens of thousands. Residents in the suburban villages of Beijing say the flash floods hit without warning, trapping some inside their homes. When the waters receded, they returned to find their homes and businesses destroyed.
