China commemorated the 80th anniversary of its victory over Japan and the end of World War II with a parade of more than 10,000 soldiers in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square on September 3, 2025. Foreign leaders from 26 countries, including Russia’s Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s Kim Jong-un, attended the event. The parade showcased several of the People’s Liberation Army’s latest and most advanced weapons, including a new type of tank, missiles, anti-aircraft systems, drones and aircraft.
