A bridge in China’s southwestern Sichuan province partially collapsed only 10 months after it opened in January 2025. Authorities had closed the 758-metre (2,487ft) long Hongqi bridge on November 10 after cracks appeared on nearby slopes and roads. Conditions worsened by the next day, as landslides triggered a partial collapse of the bridge, officials said. No casualties were reported.
