Chinese firework manufacturers say exports to the US have jumped by 20–30 per cent, ahead of the July 4 celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of American independence. Some producers expect Trump’s May 2026 visit to Beijing to lead to an extension of a “short-term truce”, and ease trade hostilities between the two countries.
