Worldwide reported coronavirus infections top 12 million

The number of coronavirus cases reported around the world rose above 12 million on July 9, 2020. The global case milestone was reached hours after the figure for infections in the US alone surpassed 3 million. Ongoing waves of infections in the United States, India and Brazil have pushed the global figure for Covid-19 infections to 12,041,795 and the worldwide death toll to at least 549,477.
