Pakistani President Arif Alvi confirmed on March 29, 2021, that he has tested positive for the coronavirus, hours after the government imposed a partial lockdown in high-risk areas in the country amid a sharp spike in new cases. Alvi said the test indicating he has the infection comes about two weeks after he received a Chinese-made Covid-19 vaccine.
