Beijing adopts ‘dynamic zero-Covid’ strategy amid surge in Omicron cases

The Chinese government has adopted a “dynamic zero-Covid” strategy, as the country battles its largest outbreak since the Wuhan outbreak in 2020. More than a dozen officials have been sacked for falling short in their fight against Covid-19, which has now spread to multiple mainland cities, with the northeast province of Jilin the worst hit.
