China hosts trilateral talks to help monitor Thai-Cambodian ceasefire

China said it is ready to help Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) observers monitor the ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia. The comments by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on December 28, 2025, came a day after Bangkok and Phnom Penh called a halt to weeks of deadly border clashes. The talks in China’s southwestern province of Yunnan are part of two days of meetings China is hosting with the foreign ministers of Thailand and Cambodia.
