Meet the world’s heaviest captive panda cub born in China

A newborn cub at a conservation centre in the southwestern Chinese province of Sichuan is reportedly the world’s heaviest captive baby panda. The female panda  weighed 270.4 grams (9.5oz) at birth, breaking a 2021 record set at 249 grams (8.7oz). The cub’s mother, 16-year-old Cuicui, gave birth at Wolong Shenshuping near downtown Chengdu, on August 5, 2022.
