Bernardita Catalla, the Philippine’s Consul General in Hong Kong, recalled that when she took up the top post in June last year, she received very warm welcome from the city’s officials.  Images of the 79-day protest that unfolded right outside her Admiralty office have been imprinted distinctly in her memory.
