Tear gas fired as Hong Kong protesters gather in downtown Hong Kong on Halloween night

Halloween festivities in Hong Kong took on a darker tone than usual on Thursday night as police fired tear gas to disperse protesters in Mong Kok and Central. Demonstrators, in open defiance of the mask ban, had gathered to condemn alleged brutality by the force.
