Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam to visit Beijing for talks on reviving economy
Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam said on October 27 that she and five senior ministers will travel to Beijing next week to secure the central government’s support to help revitalise Hong Kong’s flagging economy.
Lam is also due to visit Guangzhou and Shenzhen to push forward the city’s collaboration with its neighbours under the Greater Bay Area scheme. She said the Beijing talks would focus entirely on the economic situation, which is “very serious in Hong Kong”.
