Former Hong Kong opposition lawmaker Ted Hui seeking exile in the UK

Former Hong Kong opposition lawmaker Ted Hui Chi-fung announced on Facebook on December 3, 2020 that he is seeking exile. A press release later revealed that he plans to exile in the UK.

Hui faces nine criminal charges in Hong Kong, some of which relate to the 2019 anti-government protests in the city. While on bail, Hui was granted permission to travel to Denmark from November 30 to December 4 to attend meetings on climate change.
