Travel bubbles hit a snag amid global Covid-19 peak, says Hong Kong commerce minister Edward Yau

In an interview, Hong Kong Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Edward Yau said the opening of hotly anticipated travel bubbles with other countries, including Singapore, was becoming increasingly distant as the global outbreak hit its peak – though the plans could be rescued by vaccines.

Yau also said Hong Kong’s economic outlook remained cloudy, and that the fourth wave of the coronavirus outbreak was testing the city's resilience after two years of weathering the fallout from strained US-China relations.
