Coronavirus: Hong Kong florists face bleak Lunar New Year flower markets after government’s U-turn
A scaled-down version of Hong Kong’s 2021 Lunar New Year flower markets opened on February 6, after the government flip-flopped on its earlier cancellation of the festive fairs amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The virus threat and crowd control measures have resulted in a dramatically reduced number of customers on the first day, leaving many florists very concerned as the flower markets are usually their biggest source of income.
