Long queues for Covid-19 testing in Hong Kong’s Discovery Bay neighbourhood

Justin CF Chan

Long queues formed in Hong Kong’s Discovery Bay on February 11, 2022, as residents flocked to get tickets they need so they could be tested for Covid-19. Residents were seen lining up as early as 7am to wait for ticket distribution to begin at 10am. Some Discovery Bay residents have complained about unclear instructions and their risk of contracting the coronavirus while waiting in queues after more than 20,000 people in the neighbourhood were handed a compulsory testing order on February 9. Postal and mail delivery services to the area have also been halted or subject to delay.
