AI-based camera tool developed by CUHK helps identify depression patients

Professor Benny Zee Chung-ying, director of the Centre for Clinical Research and Biostatistics at Chinese University, and his team have developed an artificial intelligence-based tool. The tool won two gold medals  at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva in April 2024. By taking retinal images  with a specialised camera, this tool will analyse if the patient has a high risk of depression in just a few minutes.
