Up to five more typhoons are expected to come within 500km (310 miles) of Hong Kong before the end of 2025, the Hong Kong Observatory has warned, urging residents to brace for unsettled weather. The forecaster has a four-number warning system that advises residents when a storm comes close to Hong Kong and how they should best prepare for it.
